About Me

Then...
From a very early age, I  had a natural passion for music and can remember my parents buying me my very first keyboard where I started to learn how to play the songs I heard on the radio and on TV, just by listening to them using my ear. Everyone who heard me play was baffled by how I worked out how to play these songs by ear and it was at that point that I was aware I had this skill.

It wasn't until I was 16 when I was completing my GCSE in music that I started to learn how to play the guitar because up until this point, I was unaware of how expressive of an instrument it was, especially the emotions you can convey in the notes you play. Given that, there are so many ways of hitting a note on the guitar.

I then spent 2 years studying a BTEC National Diploma in Popular Music and by the end of course, aswell as gaining a National Diploma in Popular Music, I also gained a Grade 8 in electric guitar playing, and having a good ear for music was (in my opinion) a major factor in my ability to pick up the guitar at a decent pace.

Finally, I graduated at The Academy of Contemporary Music after spending a year in Guildford studying an advanced guitar course. At that time, our class was very lucky to have  Guthrie Govan as one of our guitar instructors - every single student was quite literally taken back by how good he was on the guitar - and I was very flattered when he gave me a 'Merit' on my 'Technical Development' module and complimenting me on my vibrato. We were also very lucky to have the amazing jazz specialist, Pete Callard as one of our guitar instructors, who had a very unique way of phrasing his notes which sounded superb.

Now...
I am now teaching the guitar to anyone who seriously wishes to learn how to play, and I will pass on my experience and knowledge so that you will get a jump-start to eventually becoming a great all-round guitar player!
